Brooklyn Studio
The Brooklyn Studio and Gallery is now closed
Way back in 2009 my good friend Bert Kupers let me use one of his properties, a disused restaurant in Brooklyn, as a studio/gallery for the summer. This became known as The Brooklyn Studio and although it not longer exists as a gallery many of my paintings are listed under “The Brooklyn Studio“. So, in effect, this studio exists wherever I paint regardless of location. I split the proceeds with Bert (as a token contribution to rent) and was also able to buy paint and supplies for my work and share an ice cold beer from the pub across the road. I also met some wonderful people. Many just stayed for a coffee and a chat. An idyllic experience….peaceful, relaxing ….. if you’re ever visiting Brooklyn on the Lower Hawkesbury you’ll find the building operating as a charming bed and breakfast. Call in and say ‘hello’ to Bert and Anke. It’s a beautiful place to stay for a weekend retreat from Sydney.
